About The Event

The Mental Health Working Group invites you to join the "Impostor phenomenon in relation to graduate students" online talk on May 4th at 10:00 am EST by Prof. Devasmita Chakraverty from the Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIM-A).

The talk will focus on discussing the impostor phenomenon in the context of graduate students & TAs. 

The talk will last approximately 1 hour and will be followed by a 30-minute Q & A session.

Prof. Devasmita Chakraverty, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad, India. She has been examining facets and nuances of the Impostor phenomenon since 2017, especially among researchers in STEM and medicine. Devasmita has earned a Ph.D. in Science Education from the University of Virginia, M.P.H. from the School of Public Health, University of Washington, and M.Sc. (Environmental Sciences) from the University of Calcutta (India). She also spent two years in Germany, working as a postdoctoral scholar at the IPN- Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education in Kiel. She tweets about her research @DevasmitaTweets.
