About The Event
On Thursday, March 21, the Delegates Council voted unanimously to suspend the President from his position, effective immediately. The grounds for suspension are neglecting the duties of the office, misuse of union funds, workplace harassment, and participating in activities that compromise the ability of the union to fulfil its obligations to its members. This suspension is effective immediately and will be in place for three weeks.
The Delegates mandated the remaining members of the EC to call a Special GA to permanently remove the President from Office under 6.17-6.22 of the AGSEM Constitution and a separate vote to remove the President (K.M.) from the Union under 1.17.1. As mentioned above, the Special GA is April 1 from 5:30-6:30pm. The President will once again be provided the opportunity to defend himself in front of his constituents.
At the Delegates' Council Meeting, along with the regular reports, elections for Chief Delegate and committee positions will take place for the upcoming year. If you wish to run for a position, please email mobilization@agsem-aeedem.ca or feel free to self-nominate from the floor. Please note that there will be a Unit 2 Assembly on April 26 to fill the remaining positions on the Invigilator pre-Bargaining Committee.
As always, dinner and refreshments will be served.

The AGSEM Delegates’ Council, comprised of departmental TA and Invigilator Delegates, is a deliberative body that meets once a month to discuss and vote on issues related to TA and Invigilator working conditions on campus. AGSEM members (McGill graduate students employed as a TA or Invigilator in the past 12 months) are welcome to attend Delegates’ Council meetings; however, they will not have any responsibilities or voting rights until officially appointed as a Delegate by their PGSA or by the DC. If your hiring unit does not have representation on the Delegates' Council and you are interested in being a Delegate for the 2018-19 year, please contact us at mobilization@agsem-aeedem.ca.
