New year, new wage! AGSEM rally for TAs!

We’ve given McGill our monetary demands. 

• $46.36/hour for all TAs—the average wage of teaching assistants at comparable universities in cities with comparable costs of living across Canada.
• 3% annual raises with Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA)---we all need protection against inflation.
• $1 million in healthcare funds, including a dedicated $80,000 for gender affirming healthcare—so none of us put off necessary medical care anymore. 
• Indexing TAship hours to student enrolment—neither us nor McGill’s education can afford to work for free.

Winning these demands will change our lives. Not only for McGill TAs, either. A win for us is a win for everyone. We’ll raise the standards for part-time academic workers across the island. We’ll raise the standards of what it means to fight and win.

We can only win these huge demands together. When we fight together, we win. When we talk to each other, we win. When we dance outside in the snow with hot chocolate to tell McGill we are ready to fight, we win.
