About The Event
Friday February 14 at 12-1pm in the Bell room (ERP 103). AGSEM information + free food!
Our TA union, AGSEM, is in the process of bargaining with McGill for a new collective agreement. For us to be able to be updated on how this affects us, there will be an information for physics graduate students next Friday. The AGSEM president, the bargaining chair, and the mobilization chair will be there to give an update and to answer any questions.
It is all of us members of AGSEM that determine what issues should be bargained for by the bargaining committee, which includes such as:
* Wages
* McGill’s budget for total number of TAs
* Protection against sexual harassment and discrimination
At the moment several monetary demands have been rejected, while agreements have been found around some of the remaining demands.
Each AGSEM member has an individual vote when it comes to giving the bargaining committee their mandate, so this is an opportunity for all to get a better idea of how you can affect the current state of the bargaining process and how it might affect you.
For questions you can reach all AGSEM physics delegates at:
François Bourassa (physics3.delegate@agsem-aeedem.ca) Lena Engström (physics2.delegate@agsem-aeedem.ca) Tommy Clark (physics1.delegate@agsem-aeedem.ca)
Or read more about the bargaining and the current collective agreement on the AGSEM website https://www.agsem.ca.
